I feel like if I’m going to take time reading, I better be learning. – Dan Brown
We agree! That’s why I joined the FACILIT8me Book Club. Referred to as our little community of curious minds and thoughtful readers, this bimonthly reading community hosted by Aaron Wolowiec and Lowell Aplebaum focuses on facilitation, leadership, learning, and association life. The club is designed exclusively for association professionals who want to grow, connect, and dig deeper into great ideas and best practices.
Here’s a two selections I’ve enjoyed so far …
📖 I Respectfully Disagree: How to Have Difficult Conversations in a Divided World (Justin Jones-Fosu) offers up a practical five-part framework for having honest, thoughtful conversations whether at home, at work, in the community, or online.
📖 Hidden Potential (Adam Grant) explores fresh way to think about raising aspirations and exceeding expectations, using compelling research, surprising insights, and memorable stories that travel from classrooms and boardrooms to playgrounds, the Olympics, underground settings, and even outer space.
Up next …
📖 The Art of Community (Second Edition): 7 Principles for Belonging (Charles Vogl) includes a new chapter on building virtual communities offering a practical, seven-principle approach to creating communities where people truly feel like they belong.
Of course, we also love to relax with some good beach reads. Watch for our “for fun” reads coming up in a future post.
