Knowing the power of stories, ASAE’s Executive Management Section Council (EMSC) – of which I am current chair – launched a project last year to gather and share the stories of how association’s are rebuilding the volunteer spirit. We just wrapped up the project with the sixth and final webinar last week.
Beginning with a series of conversation in early 2013 through a session at #ASAE13 and then in the six webinars, we shed the
light on associations who dared to reimagine volunteering.
In the final one, we showed a variety of examples from associations who are trying new things – including American Association of Diabetes Educators, Project Management Institute, NJ society of Certified Public Accountants, American Chemical Society, and ASAE.
The biggest take away I had from all these stories is that the associations who are daring to think differently are unifed in their commitment to deeply engage members.
