National Volunteer Week kicks off in a month on April 7, 2019. Begun in 1974, #NVW is a time to celebrate the impact of volunteer service on our communities. Its an opportunity for associations to celebrate our volunteers who are a significant resource to move our mission and meet our members’ needs. ASAE Foundation study on Mutually Beneficial Volunteer System found that 25-30% of the labor hours in associations come from our volunteer workforce! And we don’t give them paid leave, bonuses, holidays offs, or birthday cakes.
Did you know that each year associations record some 200 million volunteer hours of community service where our members become involved in issues directly affecting society? Did you know that nearly 63 million Americans volunteer through a membership organization? The Power of A collects and shares the stories of how association impact the world.
