We came away from this research with a sense that many, if not most, associations are simply treading water when it comes to their chapters.
They keep doing what they’re doing because that’s what they’ve always done and they lack the motivation and/or vision to change.
Background: The 2022 Benchmarking Chapter Performance & Benchmarking Report: A Look at What’s Changing for Chapters is the 3rd edition of the groundbreaking chapter benchmarking report that looks at the how chapters change over time and what steps associations need to take to leverage these changes in building a more successful future.
For the 2022 edition, the data collected was expanded beyond the traditional survey to include input from CEOs, CRPs (or association staff overseeing chapter operations), and chapter leaders, along with findings from CEO roundtables and focus groups—all complemented by insights gained over several decades of managing and consulting w along with findings from CEO roundtables and focus groups.
The data gathered is aimed as serving as a resource for benchmarking, sharing innovations in chapter management, and starting conversations about the future of chapters. Download the full report here.
