Volunteer engagement challenges look a little different in every organization, but if you are feeling the strain, chances are you’re not alone.
To better understand the challenges associations are facing, Peggy recently launched a quick LinkedIn poll asking association pros where they see volunteer engagement breaking down the most.
It’s telling that nearly half of respondents cited uneven volunteer engagement, especially since this often reflects how volunteers are being supported, guided, and connected across the organization.
And that’s exactly where staff liaisons can make a real difference. After all, staff sit at the intersection of strategy, relationship-building, and execution, making them central to a strong volunteer experience, yet—as noted by 16% of respondents—they often lack the proper training to be effective.
Bridging this gap starts with giving staff the tools and confidence they need to effectively work with volunteers. That’s why Peggy and Kristine Metter, MS, CAE combined forces in creating Mastering Your Volunteer Liaison Role – a two-part program designed especially for staff managing volunteer programs and volunteer groups. The program consists of two parts: a virtual session covering the basics followed by in-person workshop that dives deeper into the liaison world. Interested? Learn more here!
